Hawaii meets the magic of Disney with Aulani Resort

By Whit Honea

Having a hard time choosing between a family trip to Disney or a restful Hawaii vacation? For the best of both worlds, Disney has created the Aulani Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The Resort opens in the fall of 2011,  but now might be a good time to get a jump start on planning.

Disney’s Aulani focuses on the islands of Hawaii through elements of storytelling built into every aspect of the resort, where traditional culture meets modern lifestyle with a pinch of Disney magic. The resort was created with the aid of the local community and stretches along 21-acres of the Waianae Coast. Laced with winding paths and fish ponds, the grounds feature tide pools with colorful native sea life. And all paths lead to the resort’s beautiful beach.

Thoughts of a Hawaiian vacation probably conjure images of leisure and beauty. Dreams of Disney likely include thoughts of magic and their famous attention to detail. Now imagine a Disney and Hawaiian vacation combined, and you’ve got the Aulani Resort and Spa.
