Get ready for the latest news on baggage fees from Spirit Airlines. The airline says it’s going to begin charging between $20 and $45 per carry-on for travel beginning August 1, 2010.
This applies to passengers who booked tickets after April 5, 2010. Those who booked before April 5 won’t have to pay the new carry-on fees.
Passengers still get one free personal item, such as a purse, briefcase, backpack or diaper bag.
Travelers who join Spirit’s “$9 Fare Club” are eligible for reduced fees on carry-on and checked bags.
